Textron Aviation Service Centers Offer Garmin G1000 NXi Upgrade for King Airs

Shortly after Garmin’s announcement of the new Garmin G1000 NXi integrated flight deck availability, Textron Aviation has announced its company-owned service center network will offer the deck retrofit for existing Beechcraft King Air 200/300/350 series turboprop aircraft.

“We are excited to bring yet another modernized solution to our King Air customer base,” said Brad Thress, senior vice president, Customer Service. “Garmin’s G1000 NXi platform presents a valuable avionics solution for our King Air owners and operators who want an integrated flight deck that combines the latest in cockpit technology with an upgraded visual interface.”

The FAA has granted approval for the unit in King Air 200-series with King Air 300/350 series approval expected in the next few weeks. The upgrade can be scheduled by customers contacting their local Textron Aviation service Center.

New installations of the G1000 NXi integrated flight deck provide an estimated weight savings of 250 pounds. The systems features a new air data and attitude heading reference system (ADAHRS). According to Textron, update time is minimum as the displays utilize the same footprint and connector – thus not requiring panel modifications.

“As the manufacturer, we have built and delivered more than 7,300 King Air turboprops to customers around the world. As such, our capabilities and expertise in supporting the King Air fleet are unmatched,” said Thress.
