EBACE 2016 Begins This Week

The 2016 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2016) will begin this Tuesday (May 24th) and last until Thursday (May 26th). The conference takes place in Geneva, Switerzerland at the Palexpo Exhibition Centre (near the Geneva International Airport). It is sponsored by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA). This year is expected to have 500 exhibiting companies, over 60 aircraft on static display and approximately 13,000 aviation professional attendees.

Textron Aviation/Beechcraft has not released an official release concerning their presence at the conference, but numerous King Air models are listed in the static display roll.

Three influential and prominent industry representatives, who have have been instrumental in business aviation’s humanitarian and policy efforts, will serve as keynote speakers for EBACE2016. The event’s Opening General Session features presentations by Bernard Kouchner, former French minister of foreign and European affairs and authority on the Middle East, geopolitics and globalization; Bassim Haidar, group founder and CEO of Channel IT Group; and Patrick Ky, executive director of the European Aviation Safety Agency.

Another conference highlight will be the second annual EBACE Young Professionals (YoPro) session and networking event takes place on 25 May from 17:15 to 19:00 in the Inspiration Zone. “Our goal for the EBACE YoPro event is to influence and inspire young professionals in business aviation to develop innovative ideas for advancing business aviation internationally,” said organizer Sierra Grimes, of NBAA’s conventions and membership group.

EBACE has an official mobile app for attendees to prepare for the show, enhances their event experience in Geneva and serves as a useful reference all year long. The free mobile app is available for the iPad, iPhone and Android smartphones. It includes a full convention agenda, an exhibitor directory, the ability to create a personal profile visible to others and more. EBACE also has a Facebook page and a Twitter feed that will stay updated with news from the conference.
