At King Air Nation, we invest in our people because when our technicians excel, our aircraft and customers benefit. Recently, two of our A&P mechanics, Dakota Wilmoth and Johnathan Crabbe—participated in the industry-leading FAA-approved PT6 Training Course provided by Mint Turbines. Here’s how it transformed their skills and enriched the team.
With over four years at King Air Nation, Dakota already had a suite of credentials—A&P, IA, prop-balance, and HVAC. Completing the extensive course through Mint Turbines took his technical ability to the next level.
“I can now confidently service the engine to OEM standards, which reduces downtime and improves reliability in real operations. ”
Dakota strongly recommends that fellow mechanics pursue every training opportunity they can:
“The more certifications you get, the deeper your knowledge—plus, it really boosts your career growth as a mechanic.”
Johnathan came to the training with about one and a half years at King Air Nation and holding A&P and HSI certifications. He quickly found the PT6 course eye-opening.
“The greatest benefit is you get to learn about the internal components that you normally don't get to see.”
He added that the training noticeably improved his hands-on confidence:
“I feel more confident in being able to perform a Hot section inspection, and feel more confident in how the engine itself works/operates.”
What This Training Means for the Team
King Air Nation’s decision to have Dakota and Johnathan attend Mint’s PT6 Training is a strategic investment in both equipment uptime and workforce development.
