New Upgrades to King Air® C90, Platinum Plus Package for 200/300 Series
Garmin just announced new capabilities and enhanced operational benefits for King Air
Carl Wolf, Garmin’s vice president of aviation sales and marketing, said,

“We continue to make a series of investments to ensure King Air
® pilots have access to state of the art equipment and features on new and existing G1000-platforms, which substantially decreases cost of ownership of the aircraft. These key upgrades minimize pilot workload, improve situational awareness and greatly expand the operational benefits of these aircraft, giving owners and operators compelling reasons to upgrade to the G1000 Integrated Flight Deck.”
NextGen-Ready
New enhancements offer owners and operators the opportunity to prepare for the demands brought on by NextGen, ensuring that industry requirements are met while expanding operating capabilities to allow greater flexibility and improved situational awareness. These new features include:

- Barometric Vertical Navigation (Baro-VNAV) approach capability
- ADS-B Out Compliance
- Area Navigation (RNAV) capability that includes the ability to fly procedures with Radius-to-Fix (RF) segments
User-Defined Holds
Pilots now have the flexibility to quickly build user-defined holding patterns. These holds may be created over an existing fix in the navigation database or over a user-defined waypoint. Unpublished holds or those assigned by air traffic control are easily created and displayed on the multi-function display (MFD), further simplifying the process of flying a holding pattern.
Search and Rescue Options
Operators conducting SAR missions may easily generate flight plans within the G1000 system for three different search patterns: Parallel Track, Expanding Square and Sector Search patterns. SAR, which is available as an option, aids in crew situational awareness by simplifying the process of entering and managing search patterns.

Industry-Leading Solid State Radar
The GWX™ 70 encompasses exceptional range and adjustable scanning profiles with precision target definition for accurate, real-time weather analysis in the cockpit. Pilot-adjustable horizontal scan angles of up to 120˚ allows for precise scanning along a route of flight, while vertical scanning enables pilots to interpret storm tops, gradients and storm cell development at various altitudes. The digital GWX 70 offers significant improvements in capability, reliability and cost of ownership.
Access More Airports, Remote Locations
The optional GRS 7800 Attitude Heading and Reference System (AHRS) enables free-gyro mode, greatly expanding the authorized area of operation up to North 84 degrees latitude. With the GRS 7800, operators increase their global operational capabilities and have access to more remote locations throughout the world.
