King Air News – NBAA 2013 Day 1

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas right? Not when it comes to King Air related news. We’ve set out to cover any and all King Air news at the 2013 NBAA Convention this year and bring it directly to you. Day 1 of the conference was nothing short of a jam-packed, people to people, mile after mile day here in Vegas and there is plenty of news to be covered.

Thanks to the well-planned NBAA2013 App, planning and scheduling is made much easier. It’s free for anyone to download and helps you lay out your schedule by showing all the exhibitors, events, speakers and maps of the convention center. Through the maps section, you can “star” each exhibitor you want to see and check them off when you’re done.

The overall consensus was that attendance looked good. The first day is always the busiest so we’ll have a better gauge after Day 2 and 3. With over 1,100 exhibitors spread over a million square feet of floor space in two halls, it definitely took some planning to connect with as many of them as we could.

Finnoff Aviation Promotes 5 Bladed King Air Propellers at NBAA 2013 with MT PropellerThe first stop was Finnoff Products, which in combination with MT Propellers, had a Beechcraft King Air 200 on display at the inside static. The better news was the 5-bladed props that were on the King Air.  These composite props have many advantages that are worth exploring. Finnoff Products has also looked to land a multi-aircraft propeller deal with a large King Air maintenance company at the NBAA Convention, which will be released when soon.

Commuter Air Technology logoCommuter Air Technologies (CAT) was in attendance and we had an opportunity to meet Joe McNew, the new Business Development Director. CAT specializes in King Air modifications, sales, leasing, and engineering for Government and Commercial use. They offer a ton or products for the King Air that have been displayed on KingAirNation.com.

LoPresti Aviation

Another King Air-focused company exhibiting was LoPresti Aviation. The name, to most, has a long history but now more than ever you will see new and better products than what they’ve already produced. On display was what they claim to be the next generation of landing and taxi light system, their HID (high intensity discharge) lights for the King Air, which are now 12 times brighter than stock. “A common response our customers continue to tell us is that they don’t make night landings anymore,” said David LoPresti.  For a special show offer, receive 10% off your purchase when mentioning KingAirNation.

FlightDocs Maintenance Tracking SoftwareFlightdocs, a leader in aircraft maintenance tracking, was promoting their new iPhone App that will be released later this month. It provides an opportunity to have your iPhone, iPad and desktop all connected through inputs on any one device. Additionally, you receive a free iPad with each new enrollment. Stop by their exhibit or reach out to them for a quick demo and see the benefits of technology in maintenance.
