CenTex Aerospace, Inc. established in 1999 offers an expanding inventory of STC modifications and PMA replacement parts for Beechcraft King Air, Baron, and Bonanza.
With over 30 years of combined experience as FAA Certification specialists, CenTex Aerospace utilizes its expertise, experience, and engineering to bring a variety of improvements to popular general aviation aircraft.
With various engineering accolades to their name, CenTex Aerospace has developed several STC conversions for Beechcraft King Air series airplanes. Listed here are a few of the well known STC conversions.
Extended Range Saddle Tanks
The most recent FAA-approved conversion is the new versatile extended range Saddle Tanks for the King Air 90. Two tank configurations are available. Tanks can hold 180 gallons of usable fuel or configured for storage plus fuel, adding 16 cubic feet of storage space and 76 gallons of usable fuel. The King Air 200, 300, and 350 series airplanes will be eligible for this conversion in the first quarter of 2014.
The HALO 250 Conversion
The HALO 250 conversion is currently our premier product. It increases the maximum takeoff weight of any King Air 200 series airplane from 12,500 to 13,420 pounds, resulting in a 920 pound payload increase. It also installs five new safety systems normally found on transport category airplanes that improve operational safety.
The HALO 295 Conversion
The HALO 295 conversion, currently in development, replaces the original 850 SHP engines with PWC PT6A-60A engines that will deliver 1050 SHP. This power increase will result in improved takeoff, climb, and cruise performance for any 200 series King Air and allows the maximum takeoff weight to increase to 14,000 pounds.
The KA90 Engine Update Kit
The KA90 Engine Update Kit is a low cost alternative to other available upgrades that improves the performance and increases the value of your King Air 90. The kit allows the option of installing either a set of PWC PT6A-21, -28, or -34 engines to replace the original PT6A-20 engines and the flexibility to choose new, overhauled, or engines with time remaining as replacements. With this low cost alternative, more owners and operators can enjoy the benefits of a performance upgrade.
The HALO 90 Gross Weight Increase STC
The HALO 90 gross weight increase STC for the King Air 90 increases the C90 and C90A King Air maximum takeoff weight to 10,485 from 9,650 pounds; a 835 pound increase. The C90A maximum takeoff weight is increased from 10,100 to 10,485 pounds; a 385 pound increase, and the E90 King Air maximum takeoff weight from 10,100 to 10,500 pounds, an increase of 400 pounds.
