New TRU Simulation + Training Facility to Provide Training for Pro Line Fusion-equipped King Air This Fall

Cessna CJ 1/2/3 series training will begin this month at the newly expanded Lutz, FL TRU Simulation + Training facility with Pro Line Fusion-equipped King Air training beginning later this fall. At last month’s EBACE Conference, TRU Simulation + Training announced that they were converting the 60,000-square-foot building into a state-of-the-art ProFlight training facility that is Part 142 certified by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Training for Cessna CJ1/2/3 and Conquest I and II series aircraft will begin this month. Entitlement training for new Beechcraft King Air turboprops outfitted with the Pro Line Fusion avionics system will begin in the fall. The ProFlight training is taught by current, experienced pilots who have a number of training materials at their disposal: printed materials, computer-based desktop trainers, a Level D FFS full motion simulator, a proprietary, Level 6 NextGen Flight Training Device, and the Rockwell Collins virtual avionics trainer.

“We are pleased to be chosen as the pilot and maintenance training provider for the new Fusion-equipped King Air turboprops. Our new state-of-the-art facility and knowledgeable instructors set the bar for how we deliver value to King Air owners, operators and technicians,” stated Diane Giuliani, Senior Vice President and General Manager of TRU’s Training Centers & Services division.

The facility will be a boon for the local economy. The Tampa Tribune noted the business will create 75 jobs, primarily in the fields of training, engineering, and production. The local county Pasco Economic Development Council worked closely with officials of Textron to expedite permitting of the building in time for the new training program to launch. Additionally, EDC helped TRU Simulation apply for job creation incentives. These incentives were vital for allowing the expansion of the workforce to meet the needs of the training program.

“Textron is an outstanding addition to the Pasco business portfolio,” EDC President John Hagen told the Tampa Tribune. “The addition of 75 high value jobs is very important to our community,” He added: “TRU Simulation + Training will advance our interests in growing the aviation, unmanned aerial systems, simulation, and gaming industries, so this is a big win and potentially the start of something even bigger.”

TRU Simulation + Training’s newly renovated space located on the Textron Aviation Mid-Continent campus in Wichita, Kansas will be responsible for the training of aircraft maintenance technicians. Climate-controlled hanger bays and modern-equipped labs will be employed for a mix of classroom and practical training on aircraft and training devices. A highlight of the coursework will include 3D modeling of the aircraft and its systems—including the Pro Line Fusion avionics system.
