Nextant Receives FAA Approval for G90XT’s Single-lever Power Control System

Nextant announced this quarter they have received the FAA approval necessary for the new integrated single-lever power control system found in the G90XT twin-engined turboprop. Additionally, Nextant noted they are looking to gain European approval within the next 3 to 4 months.

This approval is the final step for Nextant’s remanufactured C90. The company is beginning a US demonstration tour to encourage sales. We were fortunate enough to tour the craft at Oshkosh 2015.

Nextant engineers wanted a simplistic, single pilot operating platform and began with integrating the single lever electronic control system.

“The turboprop market as a whole has not benefited from the significant technology advances that have driven the business jet market over recent decades,” stated Jay Heublein, Executive Vice President for Nextant Aerospace. “The G90XT is setting a new industry standard for simplicity, maintainability, and safety in the turboprop market.”

Additionally, Nextant has worked closely with GE to integrate GE’s H75-100 engines. These advanced turboprops provide exemplary fuel efficiency and require very little maintenance. TBO is 4,000 hours and does not have a hot section or fuel nozzle inspection requirement. This allows for the engine to run for years with minimum maintenance – a treat for operators who are due for an overhaul.

The G90XT’s price is $2.8 million. Additionally, the engine and avionics retrofit program is offered to C90 owners for $2.4 million.
