Pratt & Whitney New Engine Rebate Offered for Blackhawk XP Upgrades

Pratt & Whitney has announced that they are offering an additional new engine rebate for customers who purchase a Blackhawk XP New Engine Upgrade for the King Air 200 or King Air B200. The offer is available until July 10, 2015.

“There’s truly never been a more cost-effective time to upgrade your King Air with the Blackhawk XP program,” says Edwin Black, VP Domestic Sales at Blackhawk Modifications, Inc. “The New Engine Rebate from Pratt & Whitney has substantially reduced the cost of upgrading your King Air and enjoying the benefits of the Blackhawk XP upgrade, all the while maintaining a price range comparable to an engine overhaul.”

The rebate varies in discount for the three XP engine upgrade options that Blackhawk offers:

  • Blackhawk XP52 – $80,000
  • Blackhawk XP61 – $70,000
  • Blackhawk XP42 – $60,000

Applicability applies to operators who are upgrading aircraft engines through a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the following:

  • Upgrading to PT6A-42 with existing PT6A-41 cores;
  • Upgrading to PT6A-61 or PT6A-52 with either existing PT6A-41 or PT6A-42 cores.
  • Operators purchasing new PT6A-42/PT6A-52/PT6A-61 engines under the P&WC FEP Program.
  • Completion of the transaction mentioned above including complete payment of the relevant new P&WC new engine and new engines installation completed no later than September 20, 2015.

Benefits include the elimination of needing rental engines and additional removal installation costs. There are no extra charges for typical corrosion, sulphidation, expired life limited parts, non-genuine P&WC parts, or for core engines that pre-service bulletin 3360. In addition, there are no extra charges for FOD as long as FOD did not cause an unscheduled removal. More information about the rebate can be found at http://www.blackhawk.aero/pwc-rebate/.
