Raisbeck New Swept Props Debut on KingAir B200

KingAir B200The first installation and customer delivery of Raisbeck Engineering’s new Swept Blade Turbofan Propeller has been completed on a King Air B200, BB-1723, earlier this March.

Jonathan Corcoran is the owner and pilot of this King Air B200 for Corcoran Aviation, based in Leesburg, Virginia, and now has completed Raisbeck’s EPIC PLATINUM Performance Package on the aircraft.  “I knew we made the right choice when on our first takeoff, I realized we had our hands on a new level of performance for a turboprop. This is one upgrade we feel on every flight,” said Corcoran.

Equally enthusiastic are the folks at Landmark Aviation of Norfolk, Virginia, where the installation was performed and completed.  Howard Henry, Director of Aircraft Services for Landmark’s MRO operations network, said his maintenance team found the installation seamless and quick.  With Landmark being the first of Raisbeck’s 118 dealers and installation centers, they are enjoying the attention for early involvement in the program.

EPIC PLATINUM

Corcoran’s King Air B200 is also the first installation of the EPIC PLATINUM Performance Package with the new Swept-Blade Props.  Previously, the aircraft was outfitted with the then-current Raisbeck Power Props last summer, but the Owner and Pilot decided to go with the new Swept-Blade prop based on look and impressive performance.

The EPIC PLATINUM Package contains:

  • Dual Aft Body Strakes
  • Enhanced Performance Leading Edges
  • Wing Lockers
  • Ram Air Recovery System
  • High Float Gear Doors (if equipped)
  • Swept Blade Turbofan Propellers*

*Raisbeck’s EPIC Gold Package difference substitutes the new Swept Props for the Hartzell 4-blade OEM Propellers

The FAA-certified performance of the Raisbeck EPIC PLATINUM Performance Package provides you with the best performance in the field of King Airs.   Its takeoff performance, complete with FAR Part 25 Balanced Field Lengths, gives outstanding safety margins in addition to increased climb and cruise speed performance.  This makes the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-52 powered aircraft, in combination with the Raisbeck EPIC Performance Package, the fastest King Air ever certified of any model, including the King Air 250 and 350i.

History

The Raisbeck Swept Blade Turbofan Propellers are the result of a joint development effort with Hartzell Propeller Inc., spanning the last 3½ years, and are the first application of this new swept-blade technology.   Further King Air models and other turboprop-powered aircraft are currently under study and development at Raisbeck Engineering in Seattle, Washington.   Results of this ongoing work will be announced as their programs advance.
