Smyrna Air Center will be having a big week this week. The Tennessee-based company is arriving at NBAA 2012 in Orlando with the first ever “Power90” KingAir C90. The company will be showcasing the world’s first Power90 conversion this week at their Static Display exhibit.
SAC dispersed an official release of this showcase:
“This is a milestone for our program”; said Bob Fields, Chief Executive Officer of Smyrna Air Center. “A King Air 90-Series aircraft, with the GE H80’s and Power90 Conversion, is the ultimate in performance, cost efficiency, in-service reliability, simplicity, and safety”; continued Fields.
Smyrna Air Center hopes to have an official release of the preliminary performance data prior to or during the show.
“Power90” is an FAA-Approved STC conversion for Beechcraft King Air models 90, A90, B90, C90, and E90 aircraft. The conversion program includes a full phase 1-4 inspection, removal of the factory installed engines, installation of two GE M601E-11A or brand new H80 engines, and installation of two brand new Avia 5-Blade Quiet Props. The H80 engines provide the option of a single or dual-acting governor, allowing customers flexibility in propeller choices.
The GE H80 engine requires no fuel nozzle cleanings due to its unique slinger ring design, no required hot section inspections, and 3,600 flight-hours, and 6,600 cycles between overhauls. Owners can expect significantly enhanced hot-day takeoff performance and high altitude cruise speeds.
