Textron and Beechcraft Deal to Close Sooner Than Expected

As many know, Textron, parent company of Cessna Aircraft, signed a deal with Beechcraft Corp. to acquire the Wichita plane maker for $1.4 billion, which was announced in late December 2013.  Now, the deal is expected to close this month, which is earlier than expected.

“It’s good news that things are moving along quickly,” Textron spokesman David Sylvestre said, adding that it was a little more quickly than expected.

Textron is in the final stages of due diligence but there is still more work to be done.  In the meantime, a transition team made up of representatives from Textron, Cessna and Beechcraft continues to meet regularly.
