Wheels Up Continues Expansion with Beechcraft King Air Based Service

Since inking the record-breaking deal for King Air 350’s, Wheels Up has continued to prosper and expand their business model.  It has been a little over a year since their launch, and thanks in part to the King Air family, the company has found success and is on track to follow through with their massive contract.  Current and future expansions could make the contract option for additional planes a reality too.

Wheels Up Begins Dallas Take-Over

Each expansion for Wheels Up is not only a milestone for the company, but for the King Air family, Beechcraft, and Textron.  Moving into new markets also means members are responding well to the King Air 350i Turboprops.  The new Dallas, Texas, offering comes on the heels of the expansion of the program on the west coast.  Wheels Up will put two planes in the Dallas market, and by the end of year, the company will see 27 out of the 35 King Air 350i’s from the exclusive contract in use.  They also have the option to purchase 70 additional King Air’s, and at the rate they are growing, there is a chance they will exercise that option.  In 2015, Wheels Up intends to expand to Europe since the market demand for an aircraft like the King Air is comparable to the U.S., if not higher based on the need for shorter flights.

King Air 350i’s Offer Members Top-Notch Luxury

The model for Wheels Up is not only to provide easy, convenient flights for consumers, but to provide their members with a luxurious aircraft that offers the latest technology.  The King Air fleet is doing that and more.  Wheels Up CEO Kenny Dichter acknowledges how important technology and connectivity is to his target market, which is why he has all the King Air’s equipped with Wi-Fi.  The next project for the company is making in-flight cell phone use available.   In addition to those perks, the King Air fleet makes it possible for Wheels Up to provide the flight service at a lower cost than other options.

The King Air family reputation among business aircraft commuters has been a huge part of the reason start-ups are using the aircraft.  Companies like Wheels Up are aware of that, and have found growth based on that fact.  For more King Air news, contact us.
